Meet Jacob. Jacob is our Griffith Google Student Ambassador for 2016 at the Gold Coast Campus. As a Student Ambassador, he has come to learn about what it’s like to be an employee at Google, how to organize promotional events and has even been invited to visit the Google offices in Sydney! Don’t Take a Vacation From Your Job Hunt – 2016 – 2017 Summer Vacation Programs are Now Taking Applications!
If you have been on the hunt for a job, it may be tempting to put your search on the back-burner during the mid-year holiday period. I’m sure the last thing you want to think about after finishing all of your exams is going out and putting energy into finding a job. However, it’s a colossal mistake to put your job hunt on hold during your mid semester holidays. Companies don’t go on holidays from hiring new staff, not to mention many high profile employers are now recruiting for students to join their 2017 Summer Vacation Programs!

The explosive impact the internet has had on the traditional workforce is immeasurable and constantly changing. The 9-5 daily grind will never quite be what it was pre 1990, when data entry tasks were manual and job aids remained stagnant and predictable.
April Resume Rescue
Resume rescue is back on for April!
Keep an eye out for the careers leaders who will continue to run Resume Rescue sessions throughout the remainder of April. These sessions are great if you have a job interview coming up and have no time to book an appointment with a careers counsellor. Of course, it is always better to be prepared in advance so feel free to drop in even if you haven’t begun applying for jobs yet.
The Disney Cultural Exchange Program

If you feel like you have what it takes to step out of your comfort zone and move overseas to work alongside the Disney team, now is your chance to apply for this wonderful opportunity. Enter the Resume Rescue Competition for Nathan, 2016
Attention Nathan students, whilst your resume may not have won you a job yet, it could win you some great prizes! The SRC Resume Rescue Competition is now up and running! This may just be the motivation you need to ramp up your resume for 2016. Don’t let a poorly constructed resume stop you from applying for great jobs any longer. The Resume Rescue Competition has really gone all out this year and there are three fantastic prizes to be won.

A sense of melancholy has descended over the Careers office. Goodbyes have been said, gifts exchanged— perhaps even, a private tear or two shed— and the office is now quiet.
The infectious laugh that echoes down the halls, signalling Margo’s approach to Student Services at N12 even if she’s just passed through the Campus Heart, is sadly absent. The leader who has headed the Careers Service for the past few years, driven innovation across Griffith’s employability strategy, fostered valuable industry partnerships and revitalised services for students with her unique approach and boundless energy is departing Australia for an adventure in the United Kingdom.

Would you like to
receive free training in leadership skills (valued over $300) plus a certificate for your resume, in exchange for offering your skills to the Griffith community?
The Welfare and Student Liaison Office in Student Services coordinates an annual leadership program which is offered to potential or current student leaders. We would like to invite students interested in participating in leadership activities within Griffith to submit an Expression of Interest to join the program. If you wish to apply, please visit the Welfare and Student Liaison Office website (www.griffith.edu.au/welfare) and complete the online Expression of Interest form by 9:00am on Monday 4 May 2015. Students who are short-listed will be invited to attend a group interview on their campus in Weeks 10 to 12. Successful applicants will be notified by mid June.
Successful students can attend the training program at either the Gold Coast or Nathan campuses. Details are as follows:
