Today I met with Amy*, a 23 year old business student who has studied 2 years of a bachelor of human services, one year of a bachelor of information technology, completed a diploma in social media and is currently in her first semester of business. Amy works as an assistant in financial services and whilst she enjoys it, she isn’t sure if that is what she wants to spend the next 10 years of her life doing.
Recently, you may have noticed an increase in employer activity on campus. Employers have been, and will be continuing to visit our campuses throughout 2017 – 2018 in place of the Griffith Careers Fair. When you hear of an employer visit that sparks your interest, it is a fantastic idea to make the effort to attend for many reasons (especially if the employer is relevant to your field of study!)
NSW Government are reaching out to Griffith Students this semester to apply for their 2018 Graduate Program. NSW Government will be at Nathan Campus on Monday the 24th of July from 12:00 – 1:30PM in N78 -1.24. Due to recent expansion, NSW Government have seen the value of expanding their recruitment pool to out of state applicants. Griffith University was among their list of Unis with students that they wanted to meet.
It’s that time again! Time to be updated with interesting, informative and timely information from your Careers and Employment Service.

This question occurred to me a few times as a student, but each time I shrugged it off and thought ‘probably too soon’ until I graduated. I always had different part time jobs when I was studying, until towards the end of my degree, when I had a full time job. I thought that I need not bother looking at different career options in my final year because I already had a job that paid the bills and that would buy me time to figure out what it was that I really wanted to do. Unfortunately, this way of thinking hindered me from applying for many really great opportunities that I could have tried for at the beginning of my final year. I am very happy where I ended up, but I have no idea what opportunities I passed on simply because I didn’t know about them. The reality is, the time to start thinking about your career is: the moment you start University!

On the 21st of March, the Tesla S Model made its first appearance on a university campus. That university was GRIFFITH. If you were lucky enough to be at Nathan that day or if made an effort to be there for the event, you would have had the privilege of gracing your eyes over the shiny, black, energy efficient automobile that Tesla is famous for. You can have your own Tesla S Model for a mere drive away price of $131743. If that doesn’t motivate you to aim for a high paying graduate job, I don’t know what will.
