Job Search Seminars Coming O-Week!


The Careers and Employment Service is looking forward to welcoming all commencing and continuing students in O-Week! To help get you ready for the year ahead, we have a range of job search seminars to help you find the perfect job, whether it be part time employment while studying or that dream job at the end of your degree.

If you graduated last year and have been struggling to get a job, these sessions are perfect for you! Our expert career development officers will be offering their advice based on up to date employer and industry trends.

Landing a graduate job can, at times, be a tough and disheartening process. The job search needs to be much more than sending off a standard resume and cover letter to a hiring manager – this session will help you learn tips and tricks to stand out from the crowd. Before the session, have a read of our blog post ‘three ways to think creatively about your career’ to ensure you get the most out of your session.

There can be tough competition when looking for casual jobs, but we’ll give you some outside the box tips to help you find a great job that’s flexible around your studies, including information on how to approach businesses, where to source opportunities, how to use social media to find vacancies and more.

It’s also a key networking tool and a great way for employers to learn a bit about your skills and experience before they even meet you. Members with outstanding LinkedIn profiles can even receive job offers directly through the platform. There are so many great ways to engage with LinkedIn and use it effectively – this session will teach you how.
