Q: What is your role?
A: I’m a Fashion Stylist/Designer with a focus on tailoring and corporate wear. From the styling and designing side, what I strive to achieve with my work is the synergy between functional art with a clear sense of personality and style.
Q: How are you involved with CPA?
A: My relationship with CPA has continued to grow since 2012 when we first worked together creating a Workshop at David Jones (Melbourne) for students and young professionals. Today my role with CPA comes down to coaching and keynote speaking on corporate styling with “Dress for Success” as a message.
Through my services I empower students and executives with invaluable dressing advice, tips and tools on how to prepare and dress for interviews and meetings, excel rapidly within their company, and insight in how to boost networking skills & opportunities. Delivering tips and tools on how to accelerate your career growth is my main focus.
Q: Could you give us a brief overview of your own career history.
A: Having successfully launched my fashion line and custom made clothing range with an amazing impact in 2007, creating a name and solid reputation in the styling, fashion, entertainment & corporate industries, I have gone from strength to strength in conceptualizing cutting edge products with simplified styling services to enhance my clients unique style. I focus on the end result… my clients’ confidence, their personal growth, and their success!
Q: How do you think personal styling can increase a student’s confidence level in finding employment?
A: As long as they are willing to listen and apply not only the theory, but also the practical facts styling can be very beneficial for any student or young professional who want to see recognition not only within their skill set but also their image.
Q: What are your top tips for students to dress for success?
A: Number 1 – ‘Keep it simple… Less is more’. Saying that, your light coloured shirts/tops are your best piece to show professionalism and a clean image. I actually suggest to wear white shirts (male), tops (female) most of the time.
Q: How do you think students can leave a lasting first impression with employers?
A: I believe students need to know the difference between corporate wear and ‘going-out’ attire. Dress for success! Making an influential impact in the corporate world is the key to on-going success. Start right, finish right!
